An alterations and additions project to an existing 1950s house, designed for a growing young family. The design worked carefully with the existing layout to maximise its use, while introducing a new sense of function redirecting the entry to the rear of the house and adding a modest living space anchored by a north-facing courtyard, bringing natural light deep into the existing home.
